Our perfumes are made with a base of natural alcohol made from Beet roots and sourced locally here in France.

These are raw materials such as essential oils and extracts. These oils/extracts are obtained through physical processes, such as hydrodistillation. Here the flower petals are soaked in water and heated to a boiling temperature. The evaporation containing the essential oil is collected and then separated from the water. Examples of essential oils obtained through hydrodistillation are rose, ylang-ylang and neroli.

Natural Isolates are specific molecules which have been extracted/isolated from a plant such as Ambrettolide (a musk) which is extracted from Ambrette Seeds or Ambroxan (a vegan alternative for ambergris) which is extracted from Clary Sage. These isolates all started their lives as a plant and through extraction the specific molecule has been isolated for use in perfume.

Comprising less than 5% of our perfumes, these are scent molecules discovered in a lab and replicated for perfume use by perfume houses. We use only a select few aroma molecules that are nontoxic, non-carcinogenic, phthalate and paraben free and have public research data verifying it's safety for human use.

Natural ingredients, such as essential oils, are comprised of many molecules (nature is complex) some of which are common allergens. An example of this is Jasmine absolute which contains the common allergen Linalool. These allergens are required to be listed on the ingredients label for all cosmetics in the EU. You will see these allergens listed in our ingredients for this reason. We always recommend doing a small allergy test on skin prior to using any natural cosmetic.
